Bern and I established our business 30 years ago this year. It definitely feels time for the next stage so in March 2016 we appointed Ian Stansfield as General Manager.
Ian's appointment will free us from the day to day and allow us to almost approach that distant goal which is called retirement. It will no doubt be a fairly involved retirement as both of us are struggling a little with handing over our baby. We're expecting Ian and Nicola to expand the business and the product range. (Don't worry the company will still be small and human).
So you can look forward to more delicious personalised sponges, Christmas puddings, sauces and baked goodies for your fundraising next year, not all of it for Christmas. Carole x

Our Autumn nudge to fundraisers seems to have gone astray and we've understandably had some moans! So we've extended the early order discount period by a week. The delivery week ending October 28th will now carry a 4% early order discount and the order deadline will be Saturday 8th October.
To get the discounts you need to order online - it saves us a great deal of admin time. Though it may not be as slick as amazon, it’s honestly not difficult. Just log in and head for the fundraiser shop.
If you really prefer to call then its: 01539 733329 – ask for Debbie or Helen.
Happy Fundraising. Hope you enjoy it and exceed your expectations.

Well we thought our Tardis of a factory was using every inch of space but we're creatively gaining some more. We've given Tom and Neal their very own food grade portacabin (already known as the doghouse) which is connected to the kitchen via a tunnel. The roof has been raised in the kitchen for some very splendid new equipment and a partition removed to make space for a third steamer. No more 3 am steamer changes for me! The warehouse now has a substantial mezzanine floor so we have room for all the ceramic basins for Fortnums and Carved Angel.I think we really are jammed now which is a shame because I do enjoy the planning and building. It has been pointed out that theoretically we could have a chain of portacabins across to the other row of units and then work our way through them. Considering how long its taken us to grow to fill one row I dont think that will be in my lifetime.

The moment Nicola suggested our new starters photo should be captioned "Spot the dog".

Happy New Year to you all. Hope your Christmas was as relaxed and enjoyable as mine and that you all really enjoyed those puddings. We had a fantastic year in 2013 and are getting some great feedback from our fundraisers.
Yesterday, Friday 17th january, we made our first Christmas puddings for 2014. After a 3 week break the guys spent the week scrubbing, sorting and painting but yesterday it was back to it and once again we filled our corner of kendal with the aroma of Christmas. After all there's only 343 days to go.

The response we've been getting to the fundraiser autumn mailing has been heart warming. Thank you so much for all your good wishes. It's amazing to get this big 'we knew you were that good anyway' feedback to our F&M news. That's one reason we love working with you - you see us as people not 'suppliers'.
Thank you again. Carole

I'm in Switzerland, in what feels like my second home, nursing my blisters and twiddling on my ipad. The cloud is gathering outside again and blotting out the mountains. Next week they promise the weather will be better but today I think we'll be taking the train south through the tunnel in search of sunshine in the Valais.
John is fiddling with the 'shop' in Northampton. Kim is making it all look pretty wherever she is today. Steve would be finishing off the label design page but he's in Canada so he won't be up yet. Meanwhile back in Kendal the guys are making puddings for Fortnum & Mason and no doubt swearing at the packing machine. That technology is not so wonderful!

As you will notice our new website is now live and we hope to bring you lots of exciting information about what we are cooking up and shipping out so come back soon (when we have managed to take a breath) and we will keep you posted about all things Pudding!
We bought The Ultimate Plum Pudding from the shop at Low Sizergh Barn. The pudding lived up to its name and was lovely.
I just wanted to congratulate you on your Ultimate Triple Ginger pud, which I had from the Wine Society. Best ever ginger anything that I've ever tried!
I received 'The Ultimate Chocolate Pudding' as a gift for Christmas. It was absolutely delicious. Where can I buy this product.
My brother who hates Christmas puddings had a small slice and then asked for another piece’ I was astonished.
Not being a great lover of Christmas pudding it remained uneaten until summer. We decided we better eat it rather than go to waste! It is the best pudding I have ever tasted.
The Plum pudding we took to North Norfolk for a family get together between christmas and new year and everyone thought it was spectacular (even Jane my partner who is not a fan of christmas pudding)
None of my family would eat xmas puddings until we ate yours… and now everyone does.
Excellent chutneys and excellent on line service.
Delicious & great presents too!
Having just purchased, (and consumed!) one of your Ultimate Plum Puddings, I simply had to commend you on your truthful description of an absolutely first class pudding.
